Dear Diary – It’s Stinky - Sydney's a pretty cool place...

17 November 2016

Today we decided to go to Manly –first we had to get a bus down to a place called Circular Quay.

There was this HUGE boat tied up at the wharf - actually they call it a ship - people go on holiday on it. It was MASSIVE!

On the side were these big life boats...

When they drop them down, they can go beneath the water and pop back up again - even if they go upside down they will pop back up the right way...how cool is that!

There is also a huge playground on the top deck for kids to play on..

It even has a water slide!!!! It would be soooo amazing to go
on one of these ships one day!

Do you recognise this photo....?

Yep, it's the Sydney harbour bridge - it is HUMUNGOUS! We could see if for ages when we were sailing away...

People are allowed to walk on the top part of it....

Not sure I'd want to...would be pretty scary - especially if you were afraid of heights!

There is also a cool amusement park under the bridge...

It's called Lunar Park - looks lie a really fun place to go to. Our ferry didn't stop there...

It took us about half an hour to get to Manly. We decided to check out an Aquarium that is there....

There were lots of fish - all shapes and sizes...

Mrs Pam thought this dude was kinda cute....

Think he liked breathing out of water...

There were lots of sea horses....

Thought I would see what I would look like if I was one - not sure the fur would look that great if I stayed in the water very long....

There was also a crocodile...

He was so little...still had lots of teeth though! I called him Snappy.

And there were lots of sharks....

lots and lots of sharks.....eeekkk!

On the top floor of the aquarium was a place where they fed penguins.

They were so cute - they sure can eat a lot - they said they eat about one and half times their body weight - now that's a lot of fish!!!

Before we got back on the ferry we decided to take a look at Manly beach...
There were so many people there and signs up for where they could swim. The sand was really grainy and got in my fur. I didn't really like it.

On the way home we went past this place....

You've probably heard of it - it's
called the Sydney Opera House.

Was pretty tired when we got back - it has been an awesome day!

Dear Diary – Stinky here - I am now in Sydney

16 November 2016

Had a pretty chilled day today which was good 'cause yesterday was kinda busy....got to Brisbane airport at lunchtime - our flight left there at 1.05pm.

Had to fly Virgin 'cause Air New Zealand isn't allowed to fly around Australia.

The plane had really cool graffiti just below the cockpit...

(that's the fancy name for where the pilots sit, in case you don't know) Each plane has a different lady. Mindi beach is in WESTERN Australia so this plane was a looong way from home! I thought it was quite cool how she was carrying the Ausy flag.

When we got to Sydney we had to go shopping for something to eat for breakfast....we went past Sydney University...

There's a really amazing park where people can sit and have their lunch...I would have liked to have walked over the footbridge but we didn't have time.

It took us about half an hour to walk to the shops and most of the time we were walking past University buildings....

Mrs Pam's daughter Alice, stays here while she is studying - it's a pretty awesome building. One of these football posts, the one with the strange thing in the middle, is for Aussie Rules...I think they look pretty weird!

Tomorrow we are going into central city...I'll try to get some photos of a bridge and house you will have heard of...catch you later bloggers!

Dear Diary – It’s Stinky again,

15 November 2016

We got up really early today – 6am local time –I was pretty tired but Mrs Pam was really keen to go for a big walk before it got too hot. We went to this coastal track where you can see for EVER…

We had to hunt for a car park. There were so many people there – some were even jogging! CRAZY people! Miss Morgan wouldn’t have been happy on this track – no dogs allowed!

We seemed to walk a lOOOOOng way…that bit of land in the distance- that’s where we went too…it’s called Hell’s Gates…took us over an hour to get there and back!

There were heaps of flies following us –Mrs Pam grabbed a fallen branch and used it as a fly swat!It helped a wee bit but they still landed on her whenever she stopped to take a photo...! Really ANNOYING!

We had some other company on our way...

‘Lucky’, the Turkey, was a pretty chilled out dude. He just wandered in front of us, like we weren’t even there…

Mrs Pam held me up so I could see the ocean…

Do you like her new hat – she says it will be great for  if she ever has to do playground duty…

There were also some jet skiers going really fast!!!

We could hear them going ‘yahoo’ as they swung by…looked like awesome fun.

We got back and rested a bit before going for a look around Noosa. We came across this awesome street where people lived right beside the canal…

You can see the jetties where they launch their boats, right in front of their house…would be pretty cool to live here I reckon!
Check out the bird on the water – that’s a pelican – his beak can hold more than his belly can…

For dinner we went to a fancy place where you felt like you were moving ‘cause the restaurant was on the jetty.

We saw people living on house boats….they go to the shore in a dingy with an outboard motor...

and one guy came right up beside us in his boat and decided to fish…now that was just plain weird!

Tomorrow we are off to Sydney...wonder what we will find there...
